WASHING METHODS WITH THE INCIDENCE OF DIARRHEA IN INFANTS
AGED 6-12 MONTHS IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE PANGURAGAN
PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER, CIREBON REGENCY IN 2025

Background : Diarrhea is one of the main causes of illness and death in
infants, especially those aged 6–12 months who are still susceptible to
digestive tract infections. The purpose of this research is to to determine
the relationship between maternal knowledge and methods of washing milk
bottles with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 6–12 months in the
working area of the Panguragan Community Health Center, Cirebon
Regency in 2025.
Research method This study used a quantitative analytical design with a
cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 73 mothers with
infants aged 6–12 months, selected using a purposive sampling technique.
Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square
test.
The results showed that there was a significant relationship between
maternal knowledge and methods of washing milk bottles with the incidence
of diarrhea in infants (p < 0.05).
The conclusion From this study, increasing maternal knowledge and
implementing the correct method for washing milk bottles can reduce the risk
of diarrhea in babies. Suggestion that increasing maternal knowledge and
implementing the correct method of washing milk bottles can reduce the risk
of diarrhea in babies.
